Grievance and Appeals Coordinator

  • Managed and distributed all incoming correspondence for Grievance and Appeal Unit i.e. Verbal and written.
  • Handled phone reception and represented the company in a proper and orderly manner.
  • Maintained the medical record filing system that included physical and electronic logs of both member(s) and provider(s) appeals.
  • Assisted in the coordination of all administrative and project support efforts for the expansion of Grievance and Appeal Unit that included auditing and standard of procedure documentation drafting.
  • Assisted in the training of new permanent and temporary staff members.
Accomplishments:
Set a benchmark for the position, and for training.
Result:
The hiring of 4 additional specialists and development of three additional support positions.
